Original Poetry

Her

Look to the inner recesses of my mind and you will find
the thoughts of mine taken
by her; a dark slumber forsaken
since the first; moment of my Awaken

And mine eyes open to which
they never saw before, they stay
upon the light she emanates
insistent like an Alaskan summer day

Tantalizing, her charms magnetizing
to her, pulling me ever closer
by that which resides deep within
which is the child that truly shows her

I bear witness to her mastery
of perfect union - body, spirit, and heart
her beauty is Degas
and her composition, Mozart

Coincidence, she reminds me of me
ambitions as I, in my detection
'go getter' is the description of her
but 'go-get-her' is my direction

How impossible for me to imagine
she were not to be mine
when i sent myself out to the universe
and it responded to me in kind

And if at any moment
my thoughts could manifest themselves to occur
they would show to lay, linger and think
they would show to stay upon her

Just Old Men Talking (Return Engagment)

The Lucy Florence Cultural Center is located in Leimert Park. Address is:

3351 W. 43rd Street
Los Angeles, CA. 90008
323.293.1356 for reservations

This is a great show, about....you guessed it, old men talking on various subjects, in the African-American barbershop tradition. These 'old men' speak from their personal experiences, and through that, try to bridge the gap of things of the past, with the goings on of today. It is directed by a great director, Sharon L Graine, and written by first time playwright Grady L Mackey III. It deserves to be seen by as many people that can see it!

Gimme a couple of minutes!

To Kill A Mockingbird

An upcoming play for which I will be performing...

Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize winning story (adapted by Christopher Sergel) of Scout, Jem, Atticus Finch and the reclusive Boo Radley takes the audience to Maycomb, Alabama during the Great Depression. Lies and bigotry tarnish a courtroom and bring the characters face to face with racial injustice and the loss of innocence, but ultimately it is the warmth and humor of this tale that secures its place among the timeless classics.

Note: This play runs Thursday October 22nd through Saturday October 24th. Shows start at 8pm. There is also a matinee showing on Saturday October 24th at 2pm.

PRICES:
Student - $12.50
Adult - $15.00
Senior 55+ - $12.50
Child 12- - $12.50
