A Legend Never Dies...

As an MJ fan, I wanted to share my thoughts on the life of Michael Joseph Jackson. I truly believe the life of MJ was specially ordained by God. MJ was the vessel through which humanitarianism, song, and beauty of the purest form, was expressed. It does not surprise me that MJ had to endure so much garbage, because most people did not know or meet the messenger, or they focused too much on scrutinizing his every move instead of hearing his message. No one is above being crucified, if they crucified Jesus. I think MJ truly lived for his music and his fans (before his children came along), because when there wasn't that, he was very lonely. He couldn't trust (adults) for obvious reasons, he couldn't go out like a normal person, so he compensated by satisfying the desires of his heart that manifested as far back as when he was a boy performing - all but about five years of his life. He filled the most extraordinary and unique shoes a person can wear, with his whole life in front of the world. Let me say that again - his WHOLE life in front of the WORLD! Very, very few people can or could understand what that is/was like - the likes of Sammy Davis Jr., Mickey Rooney, Stevie Wonder who were essentially child stars. Even then, those names or any other names, equate to the global popularity of MJ. He was the celebrity's celebrity. No one can possibly understand that position to be in, when from childhood, you are the machine that becomes the meal ticket of many a people. I think an irony of MJ's life, is that his father pushed his kids to be something he truly wanted for himself - JJ wanted to be the star with the career, and here his son, with God given talent, becomes the biggest star the world has ever seen, after enduring a lot of psychological and probably much physical abuse as a child. Karma is a bitch! As Michael Jackson post thriller, he just became a scapegoat for other people's crap! In our country, it became the cool thing to ridicule and attack MJ, because in this country, it's so important to be cool, that MJ was needed for people to like themselves. They could point and say, 'at least i'm not screwed up like MJ' However, when you hear accounts from people who were closest to him, you hear that the man was a great father, friend, the embodiment of, and an ambassador of love. As long as he was a law abiding citizen like anyone else, what did it matter how he spent or what he did with his money. By the way, with the talk that Michael's career fell off, I want to add that MJ put out great music to his last album Invincible, which was a great album. Just because people were too busy trashing MJ, not buying his albums, did not mean he didn't have the talent anymore. People chose not to buy his album. Many times as a black talent, when you rise to certain success in this country, mud is thrown to tarnish or destroy the lustre of that talent. I believe that was done as to abase MJ's success, to make him seem not as great as white counterparts - but make no mistake, global phenomenon and a transcender of race, age, and other boundaries, don't lie!...I never met MJ, which I had really hoped that I would be able to do one day. That can not happen now, but one of the greatest things I can say about my life, is that I partially lived and experienced the era of Michael Jackson. I will always be thankful for the great memories, smiles, songs, messages, electric performances that MJ gave, and the wonderful spirit that MJ showed and proved himself to be. There was only one Michael Jackson, and there will never ever be another!
R.I.P. MJ!
